Joan-Dress

Our sewing pattern was named after Joan Chandos Baez (* January 9, 1941, New York in the USA). Baez is a well-known US folk singer, who became famous in the 60s.Her music was mainly based on the defense of civil rights and she strongly opposed the Vietnam War. The singer was not only known for her music, but also for her political commitment, making her a true icon of the peace movement. In Woodstock she demonstrated against the Vietnam War and marched together with Martin Luther King to Washington.
