Amelia Top – Dress

You can find our patterns here in the shop Amelia.

Our sewing pattern was named after Amelia Mary Earhart (* July 24, 1897, Kansas in the USA, † January 5, 1939 in the USA).  Earhart established a name for credibility as a U.S. aviation pioneer and women’s rights activist. In 1923, she became the 16th woman in the world to receive a pilot’s license. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932. Supported by the press, she became an American celebrity when she landed. The fame that she gained through her success, she used for good purpose, namely to fight for women’s rights. Given these facts, Amelia Earhart became a true icon of feminism.

Quote: „Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be a challenge to others.“- Amelia Mary Earhart
