Emmeline-Dress

The dress is slightly gathered at the bust, it has a sewn-on waist band and a wide skirt with two pleats in the front skirt. Version 1 has a round neckline, a long sleeve and is short in length. Version 2 has a V-neckline, a 3/4 sleeve and the skirt length goes to the knee.

Our pattern was named after Emmeline Pankhurst (* 14 July 1858 in England; † 14 June in England). In the early 20th century, she fought alongside the suffragettes for women’s suffrage in England. Following her activism in England, she also traveled to Canada and the United States to spread her message across countries. Emmeline achieved worldwide fame for her famous speech, “Liberty or Death”.
